Now and then, it is hard to stay motivated and on track with your training and healthy eating, especially in the cooler months when its so much easier to hit the snooze button than work out! Or reach for that naughty treat for comfort over a healthy freshly squeezed juice.

Something that really motivates us during the cooler months to train hard and eat clean, is having a countdown goal to Spring or Summer. There is something about having a set goal and countdown that makes you want to achieve it.

Here are a few of our favourite ways to stay on track during the cooler months to help you with achieving your goals:

1. Plan ahead:

At the beginning of every ZCF round take a look at the timetable and lock yourself in to your desired classes. This way you are locked in and can’t miss a class because you don’t feel like it. Meal prepping is also an essential way not to fall off the bandwagon and fall into the trap of eating unhealthy options.

2. Give yourself incentives:

Whether it is a new pair of gym leggings or a pedicure after your class- giving yourself that extra reason to get up and exercise definitely helps us to get up and get it done.

3. Become part of the ZCF Tribe:

Buddy up! Make a plan with other girls in your classes – this way you are less likely to not show up because you know someone is there waiting for you.

4. Get competitive:

Here at ZCF we are all supporting each other and striving for similar goals. Find a like minded individual in the group and make a pact with each other to reach your goals, whether it be that last 3kg weight loss or 4 sessions a week. Did you know a weight loss competition can help participants loose up to 20% more weight than if they were to do it alone?

5. Create a mood or motivation board:

Create yourself a motivation board full of goals and aspirations and where you want to be in a few months time. Stick it on your wall at home, on a Pinterest board or even as your phone or computer screensaver!

6. Write down your goals:

Because it will motivate you to take action. Writing your goals down is only the beginning. Setting your intention is important, but it is not enough. You must execute on your goals. You have to take action. At ZCF we have found that writing down our goals and reviewing them regularly motivates us to work harder to achieve them!
